Director: Chandrakant Kulkarni
Cast: Anupam Kher, Mahesh Manjrekar, Mandira Bedi, Vandana Gupta, Prateeksha Lonkar, Anil Kumble, Eijaz Khan
Music: Sandesh Shandilya
Cinematography: Rajeev Jain
Editing: Hemal Kothari
Art Direction: Manohar A. Patil

Synopsis: We love cricket. India loves the game! Cricket is the reason for our very existence. Cricketers are our Gods-our triumphant boys in blue. Our religion?-cricket! Our love?-cricket!!
Our obsession?-CRICKET!!!
Well that's clear enough.
Pritish Nandy Communications brings you the craziest, amazing love story of the year! And the one thing it's not about is hearts, flowers and Cupid with his bow-n-arrow! Infact, tweak it a little, take away the bow-n-arrow and put a bat in Cupid's plump little arms and what you've got is MEERABAI NOT OUT!
Meera Achrekar, a mathematics teacher at Vishwaprem Vidyalaya, has been happy and single for quite a while now. The great love of her life has been, and will always remain, cricket and Anil Kumble. The meticulous number cruncher is, despite not being the classic eye-candy-teenage-fantasy-fodder, a huge hit in class, and that's because Meera, unlike most teachers of her school, is more fanatical about her religion-cricket-than even the school cricket captain
Living with her family in their small home in a Mumbai chawl, Meera was initiated into her temple of Wankhede Stadium by her brother, Mahesh.
Mahesh Anant Achreker played cricket at the Ranji Trophy level. Sadly, middle class making-ends-meet economics got the better of the impreessive Maharashtrian leggie, and passion had to make way for responsibility. Mahesh is today a cricket cynic. So while Meera bunks classes and fights for season tickets to every cricket match that is played at Wankhede stadium, Mahesh steers clear even of the cricket scores!
While the folk at Bhaktiyog Society have cast aspersions on her craze forwards the game, the bigger problem that worries the Achrekar family is Meera's still-single status. Love suddenly blossoms with heart-specialist, Dr Arjun Sachdeva and Meera realizes that perhaps there is more to life than praying for Team India and Anil Kumble! However, in between this fabulous exchange of text messages, Valentine's Day outings and walks along Chowpatty, she confesses to Arjun that she is already married-to cricket!!
So, while the maiden's heart beats for Anil Kumble and India's fortunes, the more important question is: will Meera be able to commit to her non-striker beau and keep her prospective father-in-law at bay?
This season's most charming, reality-struck romance is here to warm your heart! Cross your fingers and pray that Meera doesn't have to choose between love and Anil Kumble!

Finally one night, Raj goes down to investigate and discovers that it is the night watchman blowing the whistle periodically in the night to scare thieves away. The night watchman - Matthew, refers Raj to Janardhan, the new secretary of the building society, who has passed these orders to enhance security. Raj appeals to Janardhan the next day, but meets a brick wall. Janardhan refuses to stop the whistling, as according to him the safety of the community is much more important than the comfort of one individual. Meetings are called, Watchman is bribed, threatened, pleaded but to no avail. The loud noise continues to disturb Raj, so his problem also continues.

Synopsis: Harry - 65. Recluse, Eccentric. Passionate. Besides being a Shakespearean stage actor and an ardent fan of The Master, his life seems like a play after he meets Siddharth. A play replete with action, drama, love, emotions, tension - and an expected friendship. Siddharth is a new-age film director - his cool clothes and casual persona well disguise his eccentricities. He is a visionary, a visionary who would stop at nothing to get what he wants. As opposites attract, may be likeminded people get along well too. How else would one explain the fast blossoming friendship between these two eccentrically creative minds? When the cinema-ignorant Harry is offered a magnificent role in Siddharths' next film, he is apprehensive at first, reluctant later and finally acceptable to the idea.
As the shoot takes them to the sprawling mountainous landscapes of India, new relationships bloom. Upcoming actor Shabnam, who is struggling hard to cope with her messy personal life, finds an unexpected mentor in Harry. He teaches her more than merely the nuances of acting.
From being a complete outsider to the world of commercial cinema, Harry soon becomes one of them - open to learning new methods of working, chatting with the unit members and sipping tea from a fancy thermos he never knew was invented, he is enjoying!
Little does he know that as the film rolls and he gets into the skin of the character of the Joker that he is playing, he may be taking his role a bit too seriously. Is he that good an actor, or is Fate really making him out to be a Joker on the set? As the intense moments unfold, which are even more engaging that the film itself, masks would be taken off a few faces. Towards the sunset of his life, long after the last shot is taken, as his memory fades, all that Harry can remember are his
Masters words..

What place is this, And the skill I have
Remembers not these garments, nor I know not
Where did I lodge last night,
Do not laugh at me..."

Mumbai Meri Jaan

Cast: R. Madhavan, Soha Ali Khan, Vijay Maurya, Paresh Rawal, Kay Kay Menon, Irfan Khan
Director: Nishikant Kamat
Producer: Ronnie Screwvala
Cinematography: Sanjay Jadhav

Synopsis: On July 11, 2006 the local train service, known as Mumbai's lifeline, was struck by a series of bomb blasts. Bombay Meri Jaan explores the impact of this devastating incident on the lives of the people of Mumbai. From a brilliant broadcast journalist to a patriotic corporate man; from a retiring policeman at the twilight of his life to a rookie cop at the dawn of his career; from an angry and xenophobic unemployed young man to a coffee-vendor struggling to survive and belong: Mumbai Meri Jaan follows the lives of people from all strata of Mumbai's bustling society as they tackle the aftermath of a fatal incident that brings out the best and sometimes the worst in them.
Nikhil Agarwal (R. Madhavan) works at an international software firm and is a conscious citizen. He believes in saving fossil fuels and the environment, and thus prefers to commute by the local train in the First Class compartment. On the evening of 11th July, 2006 he boards the train at the usual hour of 6:00 p.m. for his hour long journey. 24 minutes later, the First Class compartment is shattered by the first violent bomb explosion...
Suresh (Kaykay Menon), a Hindu fanatic, returning home after an unsavoury experience with a money lender, boards a train at 6:10 p.m. in the second class compartment. At 6:25 p.m. the First Class Compartment is blown apart by the second powerful blast.
Constable Tukaram Patil (Paresh Rawal), a seasoned cop due for retirement in a week, has never fired a single round in his career and uses humour to battle his personal failures. He is paired with Sunil Kadam (Vijay Maurya) on a patrol routine. Kadam has just begun his career with the police department and has a constant feeling of being an insignificant part of the system. The blasts lead to the cancellation of Kadam's honeymoon programme and puts added stress on the two. However, the corruption of the system and the mere façade of a stringent vigil are brought to the fore through several of their experiences which lead to Kadam's rising anger and frustration.
Thomas (Irrfan), a roadside coffee vendor, who roams the streets of Mumbai astride his bicycle at night, is happy with the meager $30 he struggles to earn every week but is hurt by the exclusionary bourgeois attitude of the city. Although the bomb blasts leave him personally unaffected, he realizes that the incident has brought distress to others who are higher up in the class structure. Armed with this knowledge his simple mind finds a way to strike back at the society which refuses to let him belong.
Rupali Joshi (Soha Ali Khan), a reporter working for one of the leading news channels in Mumbai is a strong proponent of freedom of expression and the importance of the fourth estate. The 7/11 explosions bring home a shocking subjective quandary and test her passion for objectivity.
The film moves away from all the generalized political and academic debates surrounding terrorism as a concept and follows a more nuclear approach by depicting the violence of individual trauma generated in the lives of five common individuals. As the proverbial stone thrown upon an anthill, the film depicts the aftermath of the incident, traversing individual journeys of five worker ants, amongst the millions that belong to the colony, towards normalcy.

Phoonk

Cast: Sudeep, Amruth Khanvilkar, Ahsaas Channa
Director: Ram Gopal Varma
Producer: Azam Khan, Praveen Nischol
Synopsis: I have always been an atheist ever since I can remember. Neither did I believe in God nor in the so-called dark forces. But every once in a while I have experienced certain things or heard a first-hand account of some other people's experiences which in the least can be said to be hair-raising and inexplicable.
Being an atheist I would like to believe that there is a rational and scientific explanation to each and every one of these occurrences. But till I know and understand the same I am forced to presume that they are supernatural happenings.
"Phoonk" is the story of a confirmed atheist whose belief systems are shaken up when his loved ones are subjected to unspeakable horrors by forces whose very existence his rational mind refuses to accept. It is also the story of a fanatical devotee who is forced to turn her back on God in the face of traumatic experiences.
"Phoonk" is also a very scary film, but the fear element is not just on the surface level like for instance in a film like "Bhoot". Here it seeps into you and plagues your entire belief system thereby making you highly vulnerable and will also put you into an emotional state wherein you would start fearing the most inane objects which you would normally take for granted in the daily course of life.
Finally I would like to say, not as a tall claim from a directorial position but just as an observer of the sheer content of "Phoonk".

"Don't say I didn't warn you?"
